Yep, the secret is out as we age; our skin’s texture and appearance change.
It is a combination of genetics and how we treat our skin throughout the years. To be honest, I was not nice to my skin. I grew up in Florida, and the beach is my happy place.
As we move into this new transition of our lives, we seem to have limited choices on how to handle this “new” phase of our skin. Our options are either:
Face altering and expensive medical procedures
Expensive products that cost as much as my child’s college tuition
Easy to find on drugstore shelves, but who knows if it is effective or safe
These choices just didn’t work for us.
Since high school, Pam and I have been best friends for over 40 years. We have seen each other in the prime of our youth, basking together in the sun on the Florida beaches every weekend. Of course, no sunscreen or even bottled water. Terrific memories, but we are paying for it now.
We started our adult lives getting married, having children, and many ups and downs. We always kept in touch but infrequently as our lives of busy working moms took precedence.
Fast forward to 2020. The pandemic put the world in lockdown, and Facetime became our favorite activity. We never lost the Best Friend bond, you know, it doesn’t matter how many years have passed when we are together. We are still 15-year-old girls talking endlessly on the phone about life.
Both of us are at a new stage in our lives. Our kids are mostly grown, and we wonder who we are and where we want to be. Our life roles have suddenly shifted. We gradually build-up to the topic that we can’t talk to anyone else that doesn’t understand…………. Peri-Menopause and Menopause.
We asked each other more questions that neither of us had the answers to. Is this menopause, or am I just out of shape? Why do I feel…….not myself? Why do I think hot, cold, irritated, unhappy, scratchy, less than beautiful, old? Hard questions, with little resolutions from either experts or ourselves. I asked my doctor, and he gave me a pamphlet. Not helpful!
We knew we were not alone, but how did we find our new tribe?
We dove into forming a Facebook Group called We are More than Menopause; as it grew, we realized we were not alone! The conversations and questions were dynamic, helpful, and bonding! Some of the most frequent discussions centered on the first conversations that Pam and I had, what skincare do you use? And does it work?
This conversation then became a quest to find products that we know are safe, effective, and cost-conscious.
We started testing hundreds of skincare products, researching ingredients that provide the most significant benefits to our skin needs, and consulting with chemists. We determined no product was available that fit all of our “Must-Haves.”
It was then that we decided that our next transformation would be to create a product for all women who are experiencing the effects of time and the sun.
Our journey started with the top “Must Haves” that our “We are More than Menopause” group determined.
Safe: We want to know what the ingredients are and that they are free from parabens, sulfates, fragrance, and color. We wanted a clean product that we could trust on our face.
Effective: IT NEEDS TO WORK!
Cruelty-Free: We would not test on animals (we have seen all those documentaries).
Extreme Hydration: As we age, our dryer skin causes wrinkles, fine lines, and a rougher texture. We want ingredients that focus on this first!
Brightens: Ok, we all know that along with the dry skin, our skin has changed appearance, and we have lost that smooth glow. The glow that we have to result to filters to obtain.
Easy to use: The reality is that we won’t use it if it is complicated.
Cost-conscious: $100 plus skincare for 30 day supply is hard to justify.
Pretty packaging: ok, this doesn’t have to be on the list, but if it is ours, we want it to reflect who we are.
So with these “Must Haves” in mind, we met with a chemist who works with many luxury skincare lines to determine how to create our first product.
He said, “first, every face needs Hyaluronic Acid, especially women over 40”. He explained Hyaluronic Acid (or HA) is a sugar molecule found naturally in our bodies that holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water to keep our skin hydrated and plump. The problem is, as we age, our bodies’ naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid decreases.
Our Chemist also shared that Aloe and Vitamin C are a powerful combination for anti-aging properties.
Aloe stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen and elastin fibers in the skin—all of which are necessary to keep skin hydrated, firm, and supple, and all of which decline naturally with age.
In addition to its ability to help replenish and retain moisture in the skin, Hydrated skin is happy, healthy skin. Sufficient moisture also helps stave off the visible signs of aging (e.g., fine lines and wrinkles).
Aloe is also filled with antioxidants. One antioxidant protein, in particular, called metallothionein, has been found to have a protective effect on skin exposed to and damaged by UV rays. Dark spots on the skin, also known as hyperpigmentation, can leave their mark. Whether from sun exposure, acne, or just the normal aging process, all dark spots typically have one thing in common: They’re stubborn. However, a compound called aloesin, found in the aloe vera plant, could help lighten things up.
Vitamin C combined with Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe gives our skin the trifecta of anti-aging properties.
Vitamin C diminishes redness, helps protect the skin from UV light damage, lightens dark patches, boosts collagen, and helps diminish and smooth the appearance of wrinkles.
Our chemist also explained that the molecular size of HA determines its depth of delivery in the skin. Not all Hyaluronic Acid products are the same. Most products contain normal to large-sized molecules. This means that the molecules within the formula are too large and do not allow the product to penetrate deeply. Our formulation has a lower molecular weight so that it penetrates deep into the skin for better results.
The next step was to create our product with these ingredients in mind and ensure all our “Must Haves” were met. Creating Transformation Skincare Hyaluronic Acid with Vitamin C was a labor of love. Each step was deliberate and always with the end in mind. We wanted to create a product that would genuinely change people’s lives.
We believe we have done just that. 2 See Transformation Skincare Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin C was born!
We were very thoughtful in the name we chose. When we discussed 2 See Transformation Skincare, we identified what we were looking to do. We wanted “to see” the transformation we were looking to create. For us, it was clear we could not have 20-year-old skin again, but that didn’t mean we couldn’t transform the skin we do have into a healthier, more youthful-looking appearance.
The last year of building our new skincare line has been a whirlwind! So many women are trying and loving how they look and feel.
Staci from Plano, Texas, said: "Probably one of the best serums I have ever purchased! It is not sticky and I saw and felt see visible results immediately!"
Jennifer from Denver, Colorado said: "I love that it has no color and no fragrance, I love how clean and soft it makes my face"
Erica from Winter Park Florida said: "I have been looking for a hyaluronic acid that is made in the USA! Bonus, it is women owned as well!" Works great!
You owe it to yourself to have hydrating, smooth, even-toned, and bright skin! The critical ingredients of Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, and Aloe in
